TO win the big Health Vote reform in the USA this day.
At the NYTimes Op-Ed writer Paul Krugman accurately assessed the GOP opposition as fueled by and running on fear. Super-sizing this was none other than Newt Gingrich who opined post vote that Obama had just destroyed the DNC as much as Lyndon Johnson had when the Dems passed civil rights legislation back in the day. Which tellingly puts his — the NO party — in place. For the remainder of this year at least.
Civil rights equate health… hah. Sad I’d say. For the GOP. Has beens. Gotta go. America is no place for NO.
Which is why I buy into Krugman’s conclusion:—
This is, of course, a political victory for President Obama, and a triumph for Nancy Pelosi, the House speaker. But it is also a victory for America’s soul. In the end, a vicious, unprincipled fear offensive failed to block reform. This time, fear struck out.
