Small Tork..

November 17, 2010

Yep. I played with should I put torque in this post’s title or, in light of content, something different. Created. Innovative.. perhaps even valuable… eventually.. humn..?

So what is this about..?

Free markets.. like the following ho-ho !!!

In 1910 Zenith Motorcycles built a V2-Motorcycle with the Gradua-Gear which was a CVT. This Zenith-Gradua was so successful in hillclimb events, that it was eventually barred, so that other manufacturers had a chance to win.

H/t: wikipedia ( my bold highlighting )

FYI the tech shorthand CVT is for constantly variable transmission, which some motor producers have embraced with varying results on the road – ie from cheap belts to metal chained to the later metal cones likely due for windfarm rotors.

Yet harking back to those markets the opposite reason of oilcos banning early electric cars so they could not win springs to mind..

For those poles to make sense in a mental machinera makeout we’d have to conclude that free markets means free-for-some. Usually the haves.. hah..
